The Florida chef whose pink condiment went viral this week — with people on social media analyzing her TikToks with Zapruder-like intensity and questioning its legality, safety and ingredients — says she’s proud of her product.

Pink Sauce is now officially heading to stores. An established food company, Dave's Gourmet, has partnered with Pii to bring a shelf-stable version to consumers this fall with production starting in late September.

But first things first, what is pink sauce? It was concocted by TikTok user Chef Pii real name Veronica Shaw - who is a single mother-of-two and a private chef based in Miami.

You have probably heard of the internet-famous Chef Pii’s Pink Sauce that went viral on TikTok. Well, it made headlines yet again this week since Chef Pii has partnered with Dave’s Gourmet to make an FDA-approved, shelf-stable, version of the famous fuchsia formulation.

In June a Florida-based mixologist and private chef who goes by the mononym Pī posted a six-second video to TikTok. In it, a single hand pours thick pink liquid into a fuchsia funnel, which marshals the sauce into an unmarked condiment bottle. Chef Pī’s video racked up over 100,000 views. It was the early days of Pink Sauce, and engagement was off to a strong start.

Dubbed Pink Sauce, the controversial product got its start on TikTok this summer when a woman began selling and shipping out the $20-per-bottle sauce.

You may have seen a “Pink Sauce” headline in your social feeds sometime in the past week. Maybe you skipped over it, but now it’s hard to escape. The Pink Sauce situation is real, and chef Carly Pii is taking it very, very personally
